Since I last post on my own modelling blog…that’s pretty lame.
Unfortunately, modelling has taken somewhat of a back seat over the past few weeks due to a busy working life and having other things going on, so there hasn’t really been to much to report or write about.
It’s funny how the hobby can consume your time, or lack of it.
One week i may get home from work (usually about 8pm) and get on it, but more often than not I am otherwise disposed with other menial tasks or just too tired to find any inspiration.
Still, my latest model is pottering along, and I usually get some decent time spent on it at the weekends.
You can kind of see some of the photo etch part in place, and the rear wing on the left side of the image. The photo etch is pretty tiny, being 1/24 scale, so I taking my time, but some parts have been primed and are ready for the colour to go on.
To be honest – I’m not that into posting up details of how I am making my models. I find it take too much time and would rather be spending the time making the models. I’m certainly not into taking studio shots of each part that I complete…I find that pretty strange, especially or modeller who complete say a build a month.
Yeah it’s nice to see how different techniques and processes are used in each build but lets be honest – you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all. Sure the colours and decal might be different, but it;s the same techniques are glue holding all those parts together.
But hey, each to their own.
On a more positive note, I did get hold of my second Multimedia kit!! Jenson Button’s god awful Honda from the 2008 season. It’s cracking kit, as I wanted one of those cars with all the elephants ears sticking out all over the place – it should make a cracking model. Shame it wasn’t any god in the races.
And on that note, I’m not buying any more kits until I have got down to 5 in my to-do pile. It’s currently at 10.
At this rate, that might be a while!
